Funding

Senior Contributions is focused on helping to meet the needs of today’s seniors and contribute to those programs which are not receiving the funding needed to based on the current demand.

Research by the Government Accountability Office has shown that in many cases more than 35 percent of seniors in need of assistance are not getting the help they are in need of. Along with this information, this research shows that congress has decreased funding for these programs since 2009, while the senior population in need has increased by more than 10 percent.

Senior Contributions understands that it is not exclusively the governments responsibility to meet all the needs of American seniors.

Together with local restaurants Senior Contributions has created a dedicated day for everyone to support the underfunded needs of seniors in our community. As of November 15, 2016, Tuesday’s in America are now considered Support Seniors Day.

Show your support for those restaurants participating in Support Seniors Day by taking your family, parents, grandparents, and all your friends out to dinner. Each participating restaurant will be returning a portion of their revenues for that evening to Senior Contributions as a charitable contribution.

Senior Contributions will review submitted requests, current programs in need, and regularly determine which programs to support within the community. There are incredible needs not only in Title III programs, but also within the research areas for Alzheimer’s and Dementia, housing, care giving, and so much more. While there will always be expenses associated with operating Senior Contributions, it is our commitment to pass through the highest possible percentage to those programs in need each year.

In some cases, there are specific individual needs that need to be met within the community. These specific individual needs will be addressed through Senior Contributions as received and determined if it is appropriate to assist in those specific needs. Appropriateness will be determined by the mission of Senior Contributions, the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and existing programs funded by Senior Contributions. In cases where Senior Contributions is already providing funding in the area of need for individual requests, all efforts will be made to ensure that the previously funded organization is encouraged to meet the needs of those making the request.

Whenever possible, outside funding will be used for operational expenses in order to preserve the integrity of those contributions received by the contributing partners of Senior Contributions.
